SENZOR, s.r.o. has its roots connected with VUKOV – Metal-working Research Institute Prešov. In 1969 ÚKP – Metal-working Industry Institute was established in Prešov. The main establishing subjects were VŠT Košice – Engineering Faculty and Hutný projekt Košice. Initial orientation of the Institute was in research and development of new products and processing technologies on the basis of sheets from VSŽ Košice production and research and development of technologies and machinery of the higher production type, in particular for rationalization needs of The East Slovak Region. On 1st of March 1970 organization name has been changed to VUKOV Prešov and new branch was open in Nové Zámky, from which independent Tool Research Institute – VUNAR was established in successive steps.

In 1971, associated plant VUKOV Prešov – SF VŠT Košice was established with localization at VŠT Košice, oriented to utilization of scientific and research capacities of Engineering Faculty during resolution of state research tasks. Since 1973 VUKOV Prešov became the leading organization in scientific and technical development in the area of thin sheets and tools for flat forming and since 1974 also for the area of industrial robots and manipulators. Associated office in Košice was gradually changed to the Field office and it started with seeking and building up of own orientation with purpose to create own production program with research and development support. From the beginning of the „roboting“ program orientation to sensing technology and roboting of assembly operations was adopted. Research and development activities of the Field office were focused on research and development of industrial robots, sensing technology and internal installation technology adaptability.

On 1st of July 1988 VUKOV was established as independent state enterprise and in 1990 Field office in Košice have separated and independent state enterprise SENZOR, s.e. Košice was established. During transformation process SENZOR, s.e. was transformed to the private company SENZOR, s.r.o., established on 1st of January 1995.

Orientation of SENZOR, s.r.o. remained unchanged and is focused on sensing technology and assembly technology automation.
